About Us

Reliant is a corporation established in 2006 for the purposes of providing ITAR, EAR global trade compliance services. Since that time, Reliant has supported hundreds of companies with audits/assessments, training, licensing support, procedures, disclosures and mentoring of Empowered Officials and management.  We are experts in compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)!

Reliant Defense (“Reliant”) is recognized as one of the leading providers of export and import compliance services.   We support companies that are new to export compliance laws and regulations as well as major defense contractors that require a high level of expertise and experience.   Some of these companies include:  RaytheonLockheed Martin, Sikorsky, CraneCo, Curtiss Wright, DRS Technologies, SAFRAN USA, Moog and others.    Contact us to find out why we are regarded so highly and to see what we can do for your company!

We are Practitioners

Not only do we understand the regulations, we also know how to implement them utilizing best practices and time-tested solutions.  Each of our associates has served in roles as Empowered Officials and Compliance Officers with major defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Esterline, United Technologies and ITT.  Our associates average nearly twenty (20) years of direct compliance experience.

We are Business Focused

Our personnel bring diverse experiences into compliance such as program management, contracts, procurement/supply chain, business development and international transportation and freight forwarding/customs brokering. This background and experience allow Reliant to render certain reasonableness and real-world applicability in our service approach and enables us to make useful recommendations based upon actual experience, practicality, industry standards and best practices.  We have seen what works and what does not, and we understand that each company and situation is unique.  Reliant understands that “one size does not fit all” when it comes to compliance and by taking such an approach may be detrimental to a company’s performance and bottom line.

We Take Compliance Seriously – Known by State and Industry

Negligence and willful disregard of the regulations can have serious repercussions.  Reliant knows how to translate the regulations into meaningful and customized training and develop tools to mitigate the risk of non-compliance.   Reliant has the confidence of major defense contractors and the U.S. State Department, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls – Compliance (“DTCC”) alike.   For DDTC-directed audits, companies must select a renowned company that the U.S. State Department approves for that activity.  Reliant has conducted numerous audits that require such approval and the confidence of DTCC.  Most noteworthy is the selection and approval of Reliant by Raytheon and the DTCC to conduct two (2) Consent Agreement audits in 2014 and 2016.

Reliant regularly interacts with various entities within the Departments of State, Commerce and Department of Defense.  Our business requires coordination and inquiries with Defense Trade Controls Licensing (DTCL), Defense Trade Controls Compliance (DTCC), Defense Treat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and Bureau of Industry and Security BIS.    Reliant’s associates have also served on  the Defense Trade Advisory Group (DTAG), which is a formal channel to regular consultation and coordination with U.S. private sector defense exporters and defense trade specialists on issues involving U.S. export laws.

We are Globally Minded – With Onsite Global Experience

In addition to working with small, medium and large-sized companies in the United States, Reliant has provided services to facilities globally in the form of training, audits and licensing support.  Reliant has worked at facilities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., France, Philippines, Ireland and Australia.   We know that U.S. regulations affect non-US locations and we understand the sensitivities of U.S. export compliance in relation to foreign government requirements.
